The Darmstädter GmbH has been actively involved in the technical textiles field for over 50 years, initially focusing on the assembly of protective clothing, primarily for the steel industry. Later, the core business concentrated on finishing broadcloth for a wide range of applications. The scope of finishings range from coating and lamination to the impregnation of textile materials.

Nowadays our products can be found in many areas of applications. Our products are non-combustible and flame-retardant materials for the insulation of heat dissipating components as well as flexible, gas and oil-proof materials for the manufacture of expansion joints. Our materials are used as flame-retardant fire and smoke protection fabrics in building fire prevention. Another main segment is special textiles for protective clothing of persons exposed to heat. Main operational areas are industrial, power plant construction, petrochemistry, pipe line construction, shipbuilding, and also the car industry.
